The opening ceremony began at 9:30 a.m. on November 15th, the leaders and the guests invited to attend the opening ceremony were: Mr. Zhao Zhengping, deputy general manager of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation; Mr. Yu Guosheng, the vice-director of Science and Technology Committee under Shanghai People’s Government; Mr. Xiong Hesheng from Electronic Information Basis Dep. Bureau of General Arming Ministry under PRC. ; Mr. Cao Zhengquan, head of Shanghai Academy of Science and Technology (SAST); Mr. Wen Xueli, Director of China Small &Special Motor & Assembly Association under CECA and Director of Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE); Ms. Lin Sufeng, the vice-Secretary-general of China Small &Special Motor & Assembly Association under CECA; Mr. Zhou Heliang, Honorary Director of China Electrotechnical Society-CES; Mr. Chen Zhiqiang, the Representative of Hong Kong Johnson Motor Group Corporation; Mr. the chairman of Japan Nittoku Engineering Co., Ltd. The opening ceremony was addressed by Mr. Shi Jinhao and the opening speech made by Mr. Yuan Hailin.

Standing on the foreland of science and technology, discussing the development of the industry is the main tenet of Small Motor Technology Conference & Exhibition. The topic of the conference was developing new type of small and special motors and open up world market of small motors. There were four seminars held during the three day’ s conference .
The experts invited by the organization commission were: Mr. Yuan Hailin, director of China Small & Special Motor & Assembly Association under CECA, Professor Jiang Jianzhong of Shanghai University, Professor Zhou Tieying of Tsinghua University, Professor Huang Shenghua of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Professor Ye Yunyue of Zhejiang University, Professor Huang Surong of Shanghai University, Mr. Wang Shijie, vice-secretary-general of Taiwan Magnetic Technology Society, Professor Cai Mingqi of Taiwan Cheng Kung University and Mr. Gao Hongwei of Oriental Motor Co., Ltd. Nearly 10 experts and professors had discussed and communicated with each other about the present situation, the development, market developments, theory design, drive control, technic process, testing method and new type motor of small motor industry and the trend of market development after China entering WTO. Over 500 people attended the seminar. The conference also had high-tech lectures given by overseas companies. The content of those lectures were: Advanced Analysis Technology of Japan Motor and JMAG Application Introduction by CD-adapco Japan Co.,Ltd, Hall and Drive Chip Introduction of Brushless DC Motor by Melexis / EIL Co.,Ltd. The Small Motor Technology Conference also invited many experts of Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Shanghai University, Shenyang University of Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Southeast University, Hefei University of Technology. We totally collected 56 thesis and published a treatise. We published four treatises to arrange the conference, including《The treatise of China (International) Small Motor Technology Seminar》，《Japan Small Motor Technology》，《Proceedings of the exhibition》and published 80 color advertisements. The exhibition has attracted 370 exhibitors, 541 standard booths and the exhibition area covers 10712 sq.m., including 316 small motor exhibitors with 463 booths, 41 magnetic materials exhibitors with 60 booths, 2 control relay exhibitors with 2 booths and 11 capacitor exhibitors with 12 booths. Now the exhibition has became the largest scale exhibition of small motor and magnetic materials in Asia.

New products like the motors for the automobiles and dynamoelectric vehicles, the motors for the household appliance, the motors for the watching and hearing equipments, brushless motors and the ultrasound small motors caught a lot of visitors sight, it also showed the characteristic of the exhibition. There were more than 400 delegates and over 10,000 visitors attended the conference & exhibition.
